Outdated Outfits That Will Always Haunt Christina Haack

One of the most well-known faces on HGTV is Christina Haack. The house flipper has become a staple on the network, even becoming the host of her own popular renovation series called "Christina on the Coast." Similar to her transformed properties, Christina Haack's hair and makeup are so different now compared to her first HGTV appearance. The most noticeable difference is how Haack has flip-flopped between different aesthetics over the years, although some of her outfit choices haven't felt timely. 

Haack has proven that she's willing to experiment with her wardrobe. She maintains a balance between casual ensembles that she can wear when working on a home renovation and flattering dresses when making public appearances. Sometimes, Christina Haack dresses for revenge in black with revealing hemlines. Other times, she dresses based on her location by embracing bohemian styles at coastal properties or opting for a chic cosmopolitan outfit while in a fast-paced city. 

But her attempts to dress edgy and unique have led to quite a few questionable choices. This is especially true when it comes to fabrics, like leather and denim, which feel much more in tune with decades past. Her problem is usually that she goes too big, trying to make statements with her wardrobe that just don't land. Now, let's take a look at some of her most outdated garments.

Christina Haack's body definitely looks great in the popular slimming fashions of the '70s, but just like disco, some things are better left in the past. Case in point: Haack in her textured black jumpsuit in February 2025. The body-hugging silhouette and bell-bottom flares scream "Saturday Night Fever." It looks so much like a costume that it's hard to take this 'fit seriously. Even in a single-toned black with a hint of sparkle, the cut and the shape of the garment look out of place among modern trends. 

Is there anything that feels quite as '90s as denim everything? In July 2020, Christina Haack seemed to be taking inspiration from Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake's iconic red carpet moment. Whether it's in the form of a dress,  a jumpsuit, or a shirt with lots of denim patchwork, Haack loves to dress up a jean look. But she just can't stray from the outdated silhouettes, which keeps these outfits from looking like a style win. 

Christina Haack embodied the look of a "cool mom" back in November 2014 by layering a fluffy sleeveless vest on top of a knitted sweater. The problem was that the feathered material made the vest look more like a theatrical boa. In true 2000s fashion, the appearance of a thick scarf swallowed her and looked super dated. She fit the stereotype of a diva with her outfit which was complete with freshly straightened hair and a thin gold necklace. All that was missing were dark sunglasses and an iced coffee nearby. 

Christina Haack has made it very clear that she loves a number of fashion trends that peaked in the '90s. Way back when, oversized outerwear looked cute on stars like Julia Roberts, but Haack's use of big, bulky jackets, such as in the February 2025 example seen here, doesn't do anything for her shape. In fact, they undermine her stellar figure by draping her in fabric that distracts from her toned body. Plus, she pairs them with fitted pants, which makes the entire outfit feel disjointed.  

We get it — as a mother, it's always a good idea to have comfortable pieces that can be easily worn anytime. And since Christina Haack had a newborn in 2016, we can't fault her for having an article of clothing that can be grabbed quickly when walking out the door that March. Still, the camouflage design feels too heavy and busy for such a simple garment. The Y2K-favored design of her sleeveless button-up feels especially out of place when paired with Haack's shiny accessories.  

If we didn't know better, we would think that Christina Haack visited the SiriusXM Studio in 2015, and not a decade later, in 2025. Everything about Haack's outfit is a trend we were loving in the mid-2010s, but most of all, her choker is like a relic of the popular fashion era. Of course, when chokers gained popularity in the mid-2010s, they were a comeback '90s trend, but the way that Haack styled the look was a clear homage to the peak Tumblr and Instagram fashion era.

Skinny jeans tucked into knee-high boots was a trend no one was immune to. Looking back at Christina Haack's outfit for a Christmas Boat Parade in Newport Beach, California, in December 2019, it's clear that the pieces the "Flip or Flop" star was rocking wouldn't be considered trendy if worn together today. Apart from the lower portion of her outfit, the shawl/poncho situation is also rather outdated, and an outfit like this one is undeniably aging the star.

In 2017, Christina Haack attended the Daytime Emmy Awards in a short black dress that seemed a tad too casual for the occasion. The A-line silhouette of the dress, combined with its short hemline, was more reminiscent of fashion in the first portion of the 2010s, when stars like Ariana Grande popularized the dress type. Combined with the sheer accents and platform heels, this outfit looks like it was taken from a mid-2010s closet.

Skinny jeans, a tunic top, a pendant necklace, and platform heels? Sounds like a time capsule outfit from the early 2010s, but for Christina Haack, the look is apparently timeless. In May 2019, Haack was photographed at an Extra TV event in Los Angeles, California, and her outfit was actually already outdated at the time. By the late 2010s, skinny jeans, long necklaces, and platform heels were all on their way out, but Haack clearly wasn't ready to let them go yet.

Skinny jeans had us all in a chokehold throughout the 2010s, but in the first half of the 2020s, they have been replaced by looser, wider styles. Even though skinny jeans are down but not out as there are ways to style them, Christina Haack's example of how to wear them in 2024 isn't really on-trend right now. The reality star paired her skinny jeans with a tight corset top, creating an outfit that looks like it belongs in 2015, not the mid-2020s.
