The Women Of MAGA-Land Will Always Be Haunted By These Hair Extension Mistakes
In MAGA-land, hair extensions are practically a mandatory part of the uniform. For whatever reason, women in this circle seem to believe that they can't look their best without tons of fake hair to match their drastic face transformations. This wouldn't be a problem, except that they frequently make the most amateurish hair extension blunders. If you've ever gotten hair extensions done by an actual professional, you probably already know that before the extensions go in, there's a bit of planning to be done.
It starts with getting the right extensions that match your hair's texture and shade, deciding what attachment methods will be used, hair prep, and then attaching and styling. This is all done to make sure that the artificial locks add length and volume while looking natural. Unfortunately, the women in Donald Trump's circle repeatedly skip the prep and styling stages even when wearing the most overblown, unnatural-looking extensions. This is one reason that many MAGA ladies look widely different without hair extensions. When they do wear them, however, it's a never-ending chronicle of hair extension blunders.
Ivanka Trump's hair extensions stuck out like a sore thumb
One major reason Ivanka Trump's 2025 Super Bowl hair extension fail will always haunt her is because of how avoidable the slip-up was. Judging by the lifted area just before the extensions shoot out, it's likely that these were clip-ins that were very poorly used. Even without hairstyling expertise, she could have trimmed down the extensions or saved herself the embarrassment with a curling iron to add texture. To no one's surprise, many commenters on X just couldn't look away from the extensions. "Yikes... she needs them glued in," one user wrote, "tacky tacky tacky!"
Kimberly Guilfoyle went overboard with the hair extensions
No one in MAGA-land uses more hair extensions than Kimberly Guilfoyle. And like everything else she does, it's taken to the extreme and then some. This particular hair mistake was displayed at a 2024 Albanian Americans Trump Unity Event, where Guilfoyle's fake locks stole the show. The extra hair doesn't even look believable, thanks to the lack of trimming and styling. Worse still, the heavy crown and thin ends make them look ridiculously unbalanced.
Kristi Noem looked like she'd ripped her hair extensions from a lion's jaws
We've grown weary of Kristi Noem's many hair extension fails. She either wears too-heavy extensions, chooses locks that look cheap, or does both, like she did while visiting the U.S. Coast Guard in November 2025, per Instagram. To make matters worse, whoever styled Noem clearly had a hidden vendetta because the extensions looked chopped, with a mixture of short and long strands haphazardly thrown in. These hair extensions look like Noem dragged them away from a wild animal's jaws and attached them to her hair.
Melania Trump's extensions were not blended or styled properly
Considering that Melania Trump is the first lady, and as such, the leader of the MAGA-land women, you'd expect that her hair game would always be on point. Unfortunately, this is wishful thinking, and Melania Trump's biggest hair fails, such as this extension error from December 2024, prove it. When JD Vance shared the image on X, the first thing that stuck out was how easily we could tell where the hair and extensions met. Beyond the glaring midsection area, the top natural part looked a lot more frizzy than the perfectly curled extensions. It was not a good look.
Erika Kirk's hair extensions were stringy and greasy
Of all of Erika Kirk's biggest hair extension fails, this one takes the cake. The 2025 photo was shared on Instagram and featured Erika, Charlie Kirk, and their child in a church, but the stringy hair was the perfect example of a common extension mistake to avoid. The extensions looked like they needed a good cleaning and brush, which would have saved them from looking greasy and stringy. We have no idea how they looked from the front, but judging from the back view, we don't have high hopes.
Ainsley Earhardt's extensions were limp and lifeless
We can't tell what looks more pitiful in this on-air shot of Ainsley Earhardt on "Fox and Friends" — her facial expression or her extensions. Whoever put the false locks in did absolutely nothing to blend or style them. They had no dimension and looked extremely flat with no natural air to them. The lack of styling is also why they looked glued in place, and all face the same direction. Her stylist picked out the right shade, but even that couldn't save the look.
Lauren Boebert's hair extensions had split personalities
Considering how positively different Lauren Boebert's natural hair looks, we can't imagine why she would wear these extensions at all. This particular hair fail was proudly worn to Capitol Hill in 2023, where the Colorado Rep seemed unsure of whether she wanted long or medium locks. The extensions are terribly added in, and the blunt edges sharply contrast with her natural ones. This is yet another example of lazy styling in MAGA-world because a simple pair of hair scissors could have removed the blunt sections for a cohesive look.
