Real Housewives Who Have Admitted To Using Ozempic For Weight Loss

When "The Real Housewives of Orange County" first aired in 2006, the show was all about filming the authentic lives of women raising kids in a posh Southern California town. Some had jobs, while others were stay-at-home moms, and they showed up in their everyday outfits. Since then, the franchise has expanded to multiple shows, and these days, Bravo stars don't travel anywhere without glam. Everything is manufactured for the cameras, including their looks — and along with being clad in designer everything, that means maintaining a super slim body, with some Housewives using Ozempic to help them.

Side-by-side pics of "Real Housewives" stars sparked Ozempic face rumors, but only a handful admitted to taking the jab. With so many celebs on some sort of GLP-1, it's no longer a taboo topic. It's refreshing when famous faces don't gatekeep their weight-loss secrets, and it makes them totally relatable. Being a reality star means sharing intimate parts of their lives, and if that means owning up to relying on semaglutides to keep their figure, their transparency is much appreciated.

Margaret Josephs used a GLP-1 to help with prediabetes and menopause weight gain

Margaret Josephs has always been one of the celebrities who have opened up about their plastic surgery experiences, so it's no surprise that she admitted to going on a weight-loss med. Although the "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star hasn't divulged which brand she uses, the entrepreneur told Business Insider in 2023, "I take them as a shot once a week, and that helps you lose weight and improves your metabolism."

Josephs revealed that after feeling a bit lethargic, she had some blood tests done and found out her A1C levels were high, making her prediabetic. "I wasn't familiar with GLP-1s when I started taking them. But as far as I was concerned, it's a peptide that's already in your body, and it evens out your blood sugar," the reality star shared.

That's not the only reason Josephs went on semaglutides. She admitted on Sherri Shepherd's talk show that it was hard to lose weight after menopause. "I couldn't do anything. It doesn't matter if I was eating right, you know, exercising ... I don't know why there's any shame in it if it's helpful to people," the television personality declared.

Another RHONJ star inspired Dolores Catania to start weight-loss meds

Back in April 2023, Dolores Catania shared on "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen" that she had been taking Mounjaro for six weeks to get ready for the "Real Housewives of New Jersey" reunion. It was actually her co-star Jennifer Fessler's weight loss that kick-started her own journey. "I was jealous. I called her every week to see what she weighed. I was out of my mind," Catania quipped. A few months later, the mom of two told The Sun that she dropped 20 lbs. and hoped to lose even more. "I'm being realistic. Right now, I'm 137. I was 157 when I started. I jumped to 163 — I was going there. Like, I was gaining weight every month," she shared.

Catania must have loved her results so much that she got her now-fiancé, Paul Connell, to take the jab with her. In a separate interview with The Sun, she revealed that she had almost reached her goal weight, and was 129 lbs. at the time. "Diet is a lifestyle, not a fad. So once you've gotten to that point, which I have now with the help of Mounjaro, I don't eat junk food," Catania shared. As for Connell, he told the publication, "My visceral fat was through the roof. So now it's like seven and when I started this, it was like 18."

It took Heather Gay some time before the Ozempic results kicked in

Bravo star Heather Gay's Ozempic-assisted weight-loss journey wasn't as dramatic as she had liked initially, but she was still happy with the pounds she shed. "I've been on it for a long time, but hadn't really seen much results. And I haven't had massive results, but enough for people to notice, which is great," the "Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" star told People in 2023. Gay found out that even losing a bit of weight made people treat her better, which was an unexpected reaction. "I don't know why. It's just the way the world works and that makes me sad for women. But happy that I'm down five," she stated.

After losing more weight, Gay shared with E! News that the criticism had ramped up. "I've been shamed for just about everything and anything. I got shamed for being overweight and I got shamed for being on medication. So, you can't win," the med-spa owner griped. She continued to say that being thinner hadn't changed her self-worth, and she still felt the same about herself then and now, adding, "It's just Ozempic became available and it worked for me."

Caroline Stanbury had an unfortunate side effect from Ozempic

Caroline Stanbury of "The Real Housewives of Dubai" began her IVF journey in 2022, and gained weight as a result. She found it hard to lose the added pounds in her mid-40s despite eating right and working out, so the former "Ladies of London" star turned to a GLP-1, per Us Weekly. "Ozempic, I have to say ... is an incredible tool. Why do you need to be miserable if you can get yourself back to where you were? I didn't want to be different. I didn't do my face to look like a supermodel. I wanted to be me, but younger," she said.

Unfortunately, Stanbury experienced a side effect from Ozempic that occurred after she had a bit of alcohol. She shared with Page Six that one cocktail made her violently throw up, but that wasn't the worst part — Stanbury was out at a popular bar in Los Angeles when it happened. She told the hosts of the "Virtual Reali-Tea" podcast, "You drink half a glass, and it's literally [everywhere] ... There's no way to run to a bathroom." Still, she looked back on the moment with a laugh and retorted, "If you haven't projectile vomited on Ozempic, you haven't lived yet!"

Emily Simpson used Ozempic to help start her fitness journey

Fans of "The Real Housewives of Orange County" know that weight has always been a sensitive topic for Emily Simpson, and after filming Season 17 and seeing a picture of herself, she decided to make a change. "I was like, 'Who is that?' And then I was like, 'Oh, that's me.' I really neglected myself those four months that we were filming. I ate too much, drank too much, didn't go to the gym, didn't work out and I felt really down, really depressed, really dark when we finished filming," she confessed to Us Weekly. A doctor suggested a semaglutide, which helped Simpson eat more mindfully, but she also credited workouts at the gym for her fit figure.

Simpson revealed on "Jeff Lewis Live" that she was only on Ozempic for one month, but that was enough to give her the motivation to get healthy. She stopped grazing throughout the day and became more conscious of what went into her body. The attorney lost about 5 to 7 lbs. while on the semaglutide, but shared that one of the side effects was that she felt sluggish, which wasn't conducive to raising three young kids. After getting a breast reduction and liposuction on her arms, Simpson ramped up her workouts and changed her diet to mostly protein. "I feel amazing. I feel the healthiest I've ever been," the attorney stated.
