Jennifer Lopez's Wedding Dresses, Ranked By Timelessness

Jennifer Lopez may be dressing for revenge now, but the singer-actor has proved that she's a hopeless romantic at heart. Lopez has been married four times: Ojani Noa in 1997, Cris Judd from 2001-2003, Marc Anthony (with whom she shares twins Max and Emme) from 2004 to 2014, and, most recently, Ben Affleck from 2022 to 2024. 

We've seen the star wear a few different wedding dresses over the years, except for the still-unseen dress she wore to her ultra-private wedding to Marc Anthony. All if them were beautiful, but some have a more timeless appeal than others. For enduring bridal couture, gowns should have a sophisticated, flattering silhouette and mindful embellishments that aren't overly trendy. Just as it can be difficult to know the difference between trendy and timeless when building a wardrobe, the same can be true when picking a wedding dress. While some fads have a longer shelf life than others, following trends too closely could result in a gown that becomes outdated before you've reached your first anniversary. 

While some unconventional celebrity wedding dresses have left a positive impression on us, just as many have done the exact opposite. There's nothing wrong with taking a risk on your big day if it's what makes you happy, but there's just something about a truly timeless gown that we adore. We've ranked Jennifer Lopez's wedding dresses on how well they've held up since their respective ceremonies — and how we think they'll endure in the years to come.

Jennifer Lopez has said that she "doesn't count" (via Yahoo!) her first two marriages to Ojani Noa and Cris Judd. According to the singer, she was too young at the time to realize what marriage actually meant — really, she just wanted to have someone by her side. Lopez was only married to Noa and Judd for about 11 months and two years, respectively. Be that as it may, the dress Lopez wore during her and Judd's wedding was relatively pretty, if not the most timeless.

Lopez walked down the aisle in a low-cut lace gown from Valentino. The custom dress featured a square neckline, mesh pearl-embellished sleeves, and a layered lace bodice and skirt. The gown's unique neckline wasn't the most flattering, making Lopez's shoulders look broader than they actually are, and wound up dating the dress quite a bit. While the "On The Floor" singer looked radiant in her fresh-faced bridal glam, her gown was ultimately a bit too old-fashioned for our taste.

Though this dress hails from the first wedding that Jennifer Lopez "doesn't count," we still adore it. Lopez married first husband Ojani Noa in 1997, and the pair divorced less than a year later. In the years following their short-lived marriage, Lopez and Noa engaged in multiple legal battles over Noa's attempts to release a tell-all book about their relationship, as well as some allegedly-explicit home footage from their honeymoon. 

Their relationship may not have stood the test of time, but Lopez's wedding dress sure has. For her first big day, the "Kiss of the Spider Woman" star wore a sleek column dress that is '90s minimalism to a T. While Lopez did somewhat date the look with moody bridal makeup and a statement updo, the gown's streamlined silhouette and subtle lace detailing would fit just as well on a bride in 2026 as it did in 1997. Minimalist, body-conscious dress shapes were a big bridal trend in the 1990s, but not all trends are fleeting. Simple, sophisticated gowns like Lopez's will always be en vogue.

Jennifer Lopez initially tied the knot with longtime on-again, off-again partner Ben Affleck in July 2022 with a quickie Las Vegas wedding that didn't feature any major fashion moments. However, the real celebration happened a month later, when the couple hosted a second wedding for friends and family at Affleck's 87-acre compound in Georgia. 

Lopez donned three gowns on her (second) wedding day, which were all custom designed by Ralph Lauren. The last gown she wore that night was a body-hugging dress with a gauzy hood and low neckline embellished with Swarovski crystals. The dress featured a mermaid silhouette — an enduring classic in the world of bridal couture. 

For her post-ceremony cocktail reception look (slide 5 in the Instagram post below), Lopez wore a stunning gown that required 30 artisans to create. The pearl-covered column gown was hand embroidered with Swarovski crystals and micro-pleats of silk tulle, and pearl embellishments. Like the singer's other 2022 wedding looks, the pearl dress was a combination of a classic silhouette and more modern, glamorous design elements.

Column gowns are another bridal staple, and one that Lopez has opted for on multiple occasions. But, in this case, the "Marry Me" actor took it to the next level by adding extra drama via the expertly draped strings of pearls. The dress managed to feel classic but not dated.

While each of Jennifer Lopez's 2022 wedding dresses were stunning in their own right, the most timeless of the three (and all the dresses from her other weddings), was the ruffled gown she donned for her formal ceremony (slide 3 of the Instagram post). The walk down the aisle to Ben Affleck showcased her cathedral-length train and long, billowing veil. 

The custom Ralph Lauren gown featured a classic high-necked bodice with ruffled cap sleeves and an exposed back. But the dress' most jaw-dropping detail was the dramatic ruffled train, which was composed of over 1000 hand-sewn handkerchiefs and 500 meters of fabric. Lopez was the picture of enduring bridal elegance, and the gown's traditional silhouette, modern exposed back, and glamorous ruffled train make it her most timeless wedding dress (so far).

While Jennifer Lopez undoubtably looked fabulous on each of her wedding days, we ranked her gowns by reviewing how timeless their respective silhouettes, materials, and details were. To us, a truly timeless wedding dress must ignore fleeting trends in favor of elegance, sophistication, and a flattering shape. Lopez's ruffled Ralph Lauren gown from her 2022 wedding combined all of these elements with the most success.
