Sofía Vergara might be open to having a husband, but she certainly doesn't need one, and she's proving it by thriving after her divorce from actor Joe Manganiello. The former couple split in July 2023 after seven years of marriage, citing "irreconcilable differences," and finalizing their divorce just seven months later. According to Vergara, those differences were majorly because they had different views on having children. "He wanted to have kids and I didn't want to be an old mom," she explained in an interview with El País in 2024.

Manganiello later pushed back on that narrative in a separate interview with Men's Journal, claiming that their marriage ended because they grew apart. Still, regardless of whose version people believe, the outcome remains the same: The relationship ended, and Vergara's life has changed pretty significantly since then.

In a bid to be honest, Vergara made it clear that the split wasn't entirely easy to deal with. "I don't want to say 'bad' or anything like that, but [this year has] been very interesting and very difficult," she said to People in November 2023, but added that she was optimistic for the future. Turns out this positivity wasn't based on blind hope. Since the divorce, Vergara has made significant changes to her business, career, and romantic life.

Since splitting up with Joe Manganiello, Sofía Vergara has had a pretty relaxed attitude towards relationships. She was first spotted on a date with orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman in October 2023 and even posted him on her Instagram in April and July 2024. However, by January 2025, Vergara hinted that they had broken up by revealing she was manifesting "health, money, a boyfriend, or a lover, maybe," for the new year, in a chat with Access Hollywood.

Following her relationship with Saliman, Vergara was rumored to be dating several other high-profile men, including racer Lewis Hamilton and athlete Tom Brady, whose ex-wife Gisele Bundchen has also undergone a post-divorce transformation. On February 4 2026, she shared an Instagram story revealing she'd switched up her caramel balayage hair for "milk chocolate brown" locks. Vergara's transformation since her divorce hasn't followed the dramatic "revenge-upgrade" trope, and this might just be proof that her post-divorce life is focused on her wants and choices, and not what she left behind.
