Meghan Markle's Best Wedding Guest Looks So Far

Royal weddings are notorious for their strict dress codes. For women in particular, there are many rules attendees are expected to follow: conservative dresses that are neither white nor black, covered shoulders, modest hemlines, no garish patterns, and, of course, wearing some kind of hat or fascinator is encouraged. Meghan Markle has managed to dress stylishly while respecting these guidelines (for the most part). 

While Meghan's Givenchy gown ranked as one of the most timeless royal family wedding dresses, there have been a few Meghan Markle outfits that got some undeserved hate. The modern shirtdress she wore to Charlie van Straubenzee's wedding was scrutinized for its dark color and button-up top that accidentally exposed part of her lace camisole. Nevertheless, many of her wedding guest looks still qualify as some of the Duchess of Sussex's best outfits of all time. 

Meghan, who married Prince Harry in 2018, attended three important weddings less than six months after her own: those of Princess Eugenie, Charlie van Straubenzee, and Celia McCorquodale respectively. At each of the ceremonies, the new member of the royal family made headlines for her dress choices. But, like most of Kate Middleton's best wedding guest looks, Meghan's outfits successfully managed to toe the line between chic and understated, allowing each bride to shine on their special day.

Meghan Markle attended her first wedding as a member of the royal family just a few months after marrying Prince Harry. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex looked chic at the wedding of Harry's family friend Charlie van Straubenzee on August 4, 2018, which also happened to be Meghan's 37th birthday. Meghan wore a modest pleated shirtdress from Club Monaco, a pair of sleek Aquazzura pumps, and, as expected for any woman attending a wedding in the UK, a fabulous hat.

While Cara Delevingne's inappropriate outfit completely ignored tradition at Princess Eugenie's wedding, Meghan Markle opted for a more classic approach. Meghan was the picture of royal elegance at Eugenie's nuptials, which occurred just five months after her own (it seems Meghan was the first in a string of 2018 royal weddings). The actor-turned-royal wore a dark blue coat dress from Givenchy, a hat from Noel Stewart, and chic Manolo Blahnik heels. Meghan's look was understated, so as to not take attention away from the bride, yet still stylish.

Meghan Markle has worn some inappropriate outfits that we'll never forget, but her dress for the wedding of Princess Diana's niece Celia McCorquodale was quite tame. The Duchess of Sussex attended Celia McCorquodale's ceremony in Stoke Rochford, Lincolnshire alongside new husband Prince Harry; Meghan wore a blue and white floral Oscar de La Renta wrap dress, white fascinator, and white heels. Meghan, who'd just gotten married one month prior, wore a simple, understated look to ensure that the bride would shine. 

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attended fashion designer Misha Nonoo's wedding in Rome just over one year after Nonoo attended theirs. As expected for a designer's wedding, Meghan went all out. The Duchess of Sussex's Valentino evening gown was composed of a black slip with a tulle overlay, puffed sleeves, and crystal embellishments. She kept the rest of her look simple with an elegant updo and gold earrings. Meghan shirked the royal dress code for her friend's ceremony — the gown's see-through fabric would be a big no-no for royal wedding guests.
